Tom and I serve as Advisors to Young Single Adults in our Church calling. That means, on a regular basis, we grow spiritually... but we also "work" (or goof off!) with "kids" ages 18-30. Last weekend we had the privilege of WORKING HARD with lots of "kids" (and some pretty GREAT "old folks" too) in helping our new friend Linda get her house painted and her yard work done. Linda's Dad built this house 80 years ago. She said it hasn't been painted in 40.
She wanted a new paint job...only requesting that we didn't paint it blue, yellow, purple, or black.
It started out being a blue "house" but it is now a tan "home"...
Linda was thrilled with the results...and, I must admit, we were quite proud of the end result too. Taking something old and helping it look new again is a GREAT feeling. But, the best feeling came from seeing Linda's happy countenance!!
